Ginger planting

So time has come for the planting of Ginger :0… a lot of compost, mulch, sweat and more sweat!

We are trying to keep mechanical and chemical intervention to a minimum so Simon and I (mostly Simon) hand shovelled 20 cube of compost for the Ginger to be planted and then the rows were mulched. We planted 200kg of Ginger by hand (my job). It took two days solid and boy were we over it by the end. Need to rethink this for next year!

So now all we have to do is wait for rain, warm spring weather and keep up with the weeding, phew!
